Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

SCS SB 1331 -- DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS IN CENSUS DESIGNATED PLACES

SPONSOR: Gibbons (Bivins)

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Local Government by a vote of 18 to 0.

This substitute expands the definition of "municipality" to
include census designated places for purposes of the Missouri
Downtown and Rural Economic Stimulus Act.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2005, FY 2006, and
FY 2007.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that making these changes to the
Missouri Downtown and Rural Economic Stimulus Act will allow
populous but unincorporated areas of St. Louis County to
stimulate redevelopment.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Gibbons; and St. Louis
County.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
